Connect Aurelian
Through integrated connections with leading platforms, Aurelian extends its capabilities beyond reservations and property management to remove manual taks, reduce duplication and to improve workflow. From automated accounting entries to secure card transactions and contactless room access, Aurelian's integrations combine useful tools into one cohesive operating environment.
card transactions & pre-authorisation
Stripe integration
Aurelian integrates with Stripe so pre-authorisations, deposits, payments and refunds can all be initiated directly from a reservation from within Aurelian, while Stripe handles the actual card processing without you having to switch between separate systems.
Aurelian is not a payment gateway and does not process card transactions. Stripe provides the payment gateway and handles all card transaction processing and associated transaction and card security.
How payments work
When a card payment is initiated from a reservation, Aurelian calculates the amount and sends the transaction securely to Stripe for authorisation and processing. Stripe returns the result to Aurelian, and the payment is automatically recorded against the guest's invoice.
You can:
- Charge the outstanding balance or enter a different amount
- Select the appropriate stored card from the booking, guest, company or agent
- Automatically record the payment and any applicable surcharge on the guest's invoice
Pre-authorising guest cards
Aurelian can initiate a pre-authorisation through Stripe, allowing an amount to be temporarily held against a guest's credit or debit card without taking the payment immediately.
The pre-authorised amount reduces the funds or credit available to the cardholder while the hold remains in place. This allows moteliers to verify that the card can be authorised and provides greater certainty that the authorised amount will be available when payment is required.
The held amount can subsequently be captured as a payment through Stripe. If it is not captured, the hold is automatically released and the amount becomes available to the cardholder again.
If Stripe declines the pre-authorisation, the result is returned to Aurelian so you know that the card could not be authorised and can take appropriate action before the guest arrives.
Refunding a payment
Refunds can be initiated directly from the reservation invoice in Aurelian.
Staff select the original payment and choose the refund option. Aurelian sends the refund request to Stripe, which processes the refund back to the guest's card.
Both full and partial refunds are supported. Once the refund has been processed, the transaction is automatically recorded against the guest's invoice, keeping the financial record up to date.
payments & accounting
Xero integration
Aurelian handles the day-to-day accounting functions associated with running your property, including invoicing, payments and debtor management. You can continue doing this work in Aurelian without having to duplicate it in Xero.
For properties using Xero for their financial accounting, payments recorded in Aurelian are automatically transferred to the selected Xero bank account with the appropriate reference details for bank reconciliation and further accounting.
This removes duplicate data entry while allowing your accountant to continue working in Xero.
Automated check-in & room access
Seguro integration
Aurelian integrates with Seguro to automate guest room access and check-in using secure QR codes. Guests receive a unique QR code before arrival which they use to access their room or other controlled areas of the property.
Seguro works with any electronic door lock without requiring a particular lock brand or replacement of existing electronic lock hardware.
When the guest scans their QR code on arrival, access is granted and Aurelian automatically checks them in.

Seguro connects at the electrical control level rather than relying on a particular lock brand or system. It triggers the electrical circuit that operates the existing lock mechanism.
This allows Seguro to control a wide range of access points, including:
- Sliding doors
- Hinged doors
- Rotating doors or gates
- Car-entry boom gates
Because Seguro works with the electrical control rather than a particular lock system, existing electronic lock hardware can be retained.
Automatic QR codes before arrival
When a reservation is created in Aurelian, whether booked online or entered manually, it becomes part of the automated access workflow.
A preset number of days before arrival, Aurelian automatically sends the reservation details for that arrival date to Seguro. Seguro then generates a unique QR code for each guest and automatically emails it to them.
Automatic access updates
If the room, arrival date, departure date or length of stay is changed in Aurelian after the original QR code has been issued, the updated reservation details are automatically sent to Seguro. Seguro generates a new QR code and emails it to the guest.
If the reservation is cancelled, the existing QR code is automatically deactivated.
Automatic checkin
When guests arrive, they scan their QR code at the reader installed at the property.
The reader can be located wherever the property requires, including:
- Reception
- The guest room door
- A property entry point
When the QR code is scanned, the door or access point unlocks and the guest is automatically checked in within Aurelian.
